Nesting, Phase I

I haven’t been doing much of anything lately (including tumblr) except FREAKING THE HELL OUT.  Sometime last week I realized that there was a little person coming, and he was going to need a place to sleep/diapers/clothes/a way to get around/bottles/something to bathe in…you get the idea.  Now of course I understand in the logical part of my brain that Poppy won’t need all of these things right away.  The problem is that the logical part of my brain was nowhere to be found.  I threw myself into planning with a vengeance.

Happily, I’ve figured out what crib, dresser, and stroller we’re getting, and I’ve registered for most of the essentials.  Now I’m a lot more chilled out.

     Here’s where we ended up:

Crib: Ouef Sparrow, grey

We found this (expensive) crib on sale at a mom n pop place around the corner.  I think the grey will look supercool against the dark blue-grey walls of our bedroom, where Poppy’s crib will be parked for the first year or so of his life.

Dresser/Changing Table: Ouef Robin dresser, white

We’ll put a changing pad on top of this to make it a changing table/dresser combo.

Stroller, Peg Perego stroller, kiwi:

This stroller is normally in the $700 range, but we found it online for several hundred less.  The husband LOVES how it handles.
