Rethinking My Postpartum Fitness Plans

Now that I’ve been instructed to stop most exercise, I have taken to fantasizing about postpartum exercise the way many pregnant women dream of sex or chocolate cake.  Of course, I try to be realistic even in my fantasies, and I don’t expect to take up much for 8 weeks or so post-delivery.  That being said, I’d love to be able to start running again, and to run the NYC Half Marathon when my son is 9 months old.

The problem?  My boobs are somewhere in the E/EE range now, which means they could be as big as H by the time my milk comes in…and I was hoping to breastfeed for the better part of a year!  Ouch.  Sporty mamas, any advice?  Am I totally crazy for thinking I can start running with these things at like 4 or 5 months postpartum?
